a live, online workshop for voice acting students and beginning podcasters
Two 2-hour sessions, April 12 & 19, 11am-1pm central time, $60
Learn how to choose a microphone, audio interface, and other basic audio equipment, set up a closet or corner in your home as a voice recording workspace, and dive into some entry-level audio recording and editing software. This workshop will jump-start your preparations for recording practice sessions, auditions, and basic voiceover gigs at home.
The content is geared toward voice acting students who haven't had much training or experience in sound recording and editing. Everything we discuss will also be relevant to beginning podcasters. We won't get super technical, but you will get a solid introduction to how all the pieces fit together, so you can shop for your own audio equipment and software when you are ready. We will also focus on free or lower-cost options so you can dip your toes into the process without spending a small fortune, and acoustic treatments that won't permanently alter your home.
